Islamized Lesson Plans

At-Tabari Academy lesson plans follow the foundational principles outlined by Dr. Bilal Philips on lesson plan Islamization. These principles are Islamic Terminology, Historical Relevance, Quranic & Sunnah Reference, and Moral Lessons. We have tailored our lesson plans to align with these pillars while covering the subjects of Islam, math, language arts, history, and science.

At-Tabari Academy is more than an educational platform; it’s a space where knowledge is seamlessly woven with Islamic principles. Our lesson plans reflect a commitment to nurturing your child’s intellectual, spiritual, and moral growth. Join us on this enlightening journey of education and faith enrichment.

It won't be easy, but it will be fulfilling

Here’s a little secret about homeschooling: It’s just like life – it doesn’t always go according to plan.

To keep things manageable, it’s a good idea to prioritize your child’s activities. That way, on days when things go sideways – maybe you’re feeling under the weather, there’s a family emergency, you’re on the road, or the in-laws decide to pop in – you’ll know exactly which subjects are a must-do and which ones can take a backseat. It’s all about flexibility and balance. Here is some advice to help you on your journey.

Advice #1

Cultivate a Supportive Learning Environment: Homeschooling can be as much a journey for parents as it is for children. A supportive, positive environment can make all the difference. Remember, every child learns differently – it’s important to be patient and adapt your teaching style to your child’s unique needs.

Advice #2

Use Practical Experiences as Learning Opportunities: Learning isn’t limited to textbooks and worksheets. In fact, real-world experiences can often be the best teacher. Use everyday moments as opportunities for learning. Take nature walks and explore biology, cook together and discuss measurements or fractions, or visit a museum to dive into history. Don’t be afraid to think outside the traditional classroom box.
